Aspel is an injection moulding company of small and medium sized technical parts. The products are mainly for the automotive sector, electrical and electronic market, domestic appliances and general industrial applications.
The Aspel division has five production units: three in Belgium (Eupen, Dolhain and Bocholt), one in Mexico (Queretaro) and one in Slovakia (Kezmarok) and a partnership in China (Suzhou).
Aspel Dolhain is a plant with more than 30 years of experience in injection moulding, working for different markets, such as the defence industry, automotive, electrical appliances, lighting...
Currently Aspel Dolhain employs more than 45 people.- Function:
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will implement the commercial strategy of the Aspel Dolhain plant and group for local, Belgian and European customers.
He will develop the business with existing and new customers in existing and in new markets.The position will be located in Dolhain.
Reporting, tasks and responsibilities- Reports to the Director Business Development & Engineering.
- Internal contacts: commercial people, key account managers, and the Engineering team within the Aspel Group in Belgium and abroad, the Dolhain personnel and peers.
- External contacts: prospects and clients, commercial networks on a local and regional level.
- Implements the sales strategy of Aspel for the considered market.
- Promotes Aspel awareness to designated markets and customers in order to maximize potential revenues and sales.
- Identifies and qualifies potential customers in order to enable the sales of Aspel products.
- Identifies, contacts and influences decision-makers.
- Plays an active role in defining the account plans and manages its execution.
- Executes the account management for existing customers: visits to the customer, writes visit reports, proposal preparation according to company directives, proposal follow-up, follow-up of sold projects, forecast of new needs of the customer, follow-up of invoices.
- Prepares the sales proposal for the customer and seeks approval for the technical and financial aspects with the Business Development Director, while respecting the sales procedures and the internal company procedures.
- Organizes and executes the prospection of potential customers, using the tools available and respecting the defined goals.
- Participates in and organizes adequate marketing events, such as exhibitions, sales events.
- Builds relationships with external and internal partners, which are pertinent to the interests and needs of Aspel.
- Keeps ahead of market needs and trends; develops own expertise (knowledge of accounts, business needs, major players in this market).
- Actively researches and investigates the local market
- Understands the local market (opportunities, needs, competition, prices, players, financial situation, political situation, …)
- Carries out various administrative tasks in order to follow-up, control, organize his sales activities.
- Profile:
- Has ideally a Bachelor or Master Degree in a technical domain or has a compensating working experience.
- Has salesexperience and is able to build constructive partnerships with customers.
- Must have a technical background (engineering).
- Has the ability to manage and effectively grow a sales territory.
- Has a broad view/understanding of business management.
- Ideally understands injection moulding and plastics engineering. If not, experience in a similar industry is strongly welcome.
- Is willing to work and travel internationally from time to time.
- Has a good knowledge of French, Dutch & English. Knowledge of German is a plus.
