Our client is a multi-specialist construction group operating in five divisions: cables and pipelines, tunnelling, buildings and civil engineering, collectors and water pipes, drinking water facilities and special techniques.
The international business is in full expansion.
- Function:
We are looking for a Commercial Manager who will be responsible for further development in the Netherlands.
Tasks and responsibilities
Reporting and contacts
- External contacts: clients, prospects, ministries, lobbyists, the necessary network in order to develop his/her portfolio of clients.Tasks
- Give response in a qualitative and quantitative way to tenders (state- or private held)
- Selling of the services
- Market study, screening of the market and competitors
- Lobbying with all stakeholders
- Evaluation and estimation of different projects
- Hunting new prospects/projects, and farming existing clients
- Making offers, making first calculation of projects (budget, …)
- Reporting to management/ shareholders
- Advising clients of all implications (technical, financial, …), during the projects life
- Building strong working relations
- Follow up of tenders- Profile:
Education, knowledge and experience:
- Education: engineer, civil or mechanical , or related technical background
- Sector experience: must show a proven experience in building sector, or in industrial investment goods, or in one of the activities in which our client is involved
- Functional experience: commercial, technical-commercial, commercial management
- Knowledge of language: English and Dutch, other European language can be a plus.
- Proven record of successfully handling a number of projects at one time and delivering to time and to budget constraints,
- A proven career in quality surveying, cost control, contracts, estimating and planningTechnical skills:
- must be able to understand the technical aspects of the business
- understand the technology
- fast understanding and evaluation of tenders/projectsCompetence profile:
- Needs to have strong proven commercial skills. Strong background in formulating and implementing sales strategies. Experience in the full selling cycle is essential
