Function:

As a member of our client's growing consulting team, you will be part of project teams that work on transformation projects exclusively in the Financial Services Industry and Capital Markets.

The Lead Application Architect is the key enabler of the business IT alignment in assignments  that address strategic issues such as enterprise wide operational transformation, post merger integrations, IT strategic planning, … within clients such as Investment banks, Private Banks and Asset Managers, Retail and Wholesale Banks, Central Banks, Depositories and International Clearing Organizations.


Your main responsibilities as an Enterprise Architect are as follows:

  • Understanding of client strategic direction, issues and project goals.
  • Take leadership role, in close cooperation with the client, in the definition of a logical IT solution architecture on enterprise or business unit level that enables interoperability, and promotes synergy without compromising system agility.
  • Integrate within the client environment and adhere to the modeling techniques, standards and tools that have been selected.
  • Design a flexible and performing solution for a complex and holistic business problem.
  • Assure compliancy of the architecture in the existing and rapidly evolving environment.
  • Develop high quality presentations/reports to effectively communicate application architecture artifacts and build consensus between multiple technical and business stakeholders within the client.
  • Share expert knowledge and mentor others.
  • Define requirements and assist in evaluating and defining technical architectures.
  • Prepare, attend and participate in, help facilitate and document client meetings and workshops.
Profile:

Your current profile as Enterprise Architect should include certain capabilities and level of experience such as:

  • A university degree and at least 5 years of experience in the Financial Services or Capital Markets Industry, preferably in an architectural or IT strategy role.
  • A profound knowledge of technologies, methodologies, modeling techniques and tools available today, and an in-depth expertise in application integration mechanism such as Web services, Business Process Management, EAI, ETL and their respective tools.
  • A broad understanding of at least one of the following product or functional areas: Corporate and Investment Banking, Market Infrastructure Providers, Retail and Private Banking, Back-office processing (e.g. Clearing and Settlement), Dealing and Trading, Portfolio Management, Risk or Asset Management.
  • A strong understanding of business value of IT solutions and architectures.
  • An in depth knowledge of supportive technologies in the Financial Services Industry.
  • Able to analyze issues form a strategic and holistic point of view, while being pragmatic in defining the IT solution.
  • A true consultant, flexible and stress resistant, and able to learn new skills rapidly, good listener, with strong analytical and quantitative skills, solid client facing capabilities and the ability to think, write and present in a logical and structured way.
  • Communicate effectively (verbally and in writing, (English and Dutch or French)) with managers and clients, discussing complex ideas and developing project deliverables.
  • Eager to travel and work in cross-border/cross-disciplined teams at client site.
  • A team player, but able to work independently.
